Mal qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004, initially working full-time in the NHS for a period of 5 years. During this time he also worked part-time for professional sport which further developed his interest in sports specific rehabilitation. In 2009, Mal began work full time in professional football. This environment has enabled him to prosper as a clinical sports specialist and he brings a wealth of skill and knowledge to Perform at The Ageas Bowl. Away from football, Mal also has experience with elite cricketers, swimmers and athletes and, has completed his Masters of Science in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Bath.
His special interest lies in lower limb and spinal injuries, as well as injury prevention through screening and prehabilitation programmes.
