BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
I am a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in sports injuries. I have worked at Spire Norwich Hospital for over 10 years, where I have gained a wealth of experience seeing a diverse range of clients of all ages and musculoskeletal issues. I am most specialist in the rehabilitation of knee, shoulder, ankle and hip injuries as well as post surgery such as ACL, arthroscopies and joint replacements.
I graduated with a first class degree from the University of Birmingham in 2006, following a previous degree in Biology at the University of Bristol. I worked at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, gaining promotion in 2009 to specialise as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. In 2011, I moved to work as a specialist sports physiotherapist in London which provided valuable experience in elite sports injury management.
I always endeavour to enable patients to choose their own approach with their rehabilitation and provide plenty of the time to listen, support and answer questions about their injury.
Treatments can include a ‘hands on’ approach such as mobilisations and massage, usually alongside some sort of exercise or movement.
Most importantly I hope to empower my patient to help them to achieve good health and wellbeing whatever their age or expectations, whether returning to elite sport, work or walking their dog.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Anna Holmes-Gurney at Spire include:
