Miss Emma Wilton

Consultant Vascular Surgeon

MB BChir MA MD FRCS

"I enjoy working at the Spire Thames Valley Hospital because they are very supportive and the entire staff are committed to ensuring the best care for each patient."

I was appointed as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 2017. I completed my medical training at the University of Cambridge in 2000. I specialise in general vascular surgery with specific interest in superficial and deep venous disease, endovenous treatments including radiofrequency ablation thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment, aortic dissection, stroke prevention with carotid endarteterectomy and peripheral vascular disease.

I was awarded the certificate of completion of training in General and Vascular Surgery in November 2016 following higher surgical training in the Oxford / Thames Valley Deanery. This also included a year as an Endovascular Fellow at St George's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital, London. Following completion of higher surgical training I undertook a further clinical fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital, London where I developed a specialist interest in the management and intervention of aortic disease, including complex aortic pathology, using both open and endovascular operative techniques and also developed a specialist interest in the management and intervention of deep venous disease.

I am the surgical lead for the Deep Venous Service at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts and the Thames Valley Vascular Network. I am also the clinical lead for vascular surgical trainees at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
