I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex and Spire London East Hospital in Redbridge, Essex. I offer private complex knee surgery and general orthopaedic surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospitals.

I am a user of computer navigated surgery, which increases the accuracy of knee replacement surgery and improves the longevity and functioning of the artificial joint. Combined with my skill and experience, I believe that computer navigated systems are an invaluable tool which enhance the outcome of the total knee replacement.

I joined Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust in 2003. I am now a consultant knee specialist at Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex, and at King George Hospitals in Goodmayes, Essex. Here I have been involved extensively in research and teaching.

My training was in Oxford and Sheffield and on the Northwest high surgical training programme. As my training was gained in three regions, this gave me a broad experience and insight into managing complex orthopaedic conditions. I spent one year as a knee fellow where I had the opportunity to develop my specialised skills in the management of complex knee problems including multiple ligament reconstruction, knee replacement and repeat knee replacement (known as revision surgery). During my training, I also worked in two major specialised units in Canada.

I am a founder member of the Essex Knee Group of specialist knee surgeons which meets regularly at Spire Hartswood Hospital. We share our clinical outcomes and experience to the benefit of each other and our patients. With patients’ consent, the Group discusses treatment options where a patient’s disease or injury is particularly challenging. Patients benefit directly from this approach and the surgeons gain from collaborative and continuous learning.
