MB ChB, MSc, MD, FRC (Ophth)
I currently lead the glaucoma service at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust. Within my glaucoma sub specialty I have a special interest in the latest surgical techniques such as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). I also perform laser treatment (selective laser trabeculoplasty) as a means of reducing the need for drop use when treating glaucoma.
I did my general ophthalmic training on the prestigious Oxford ophthalmology rotation and have undergone three years sub specialist training in glaucoma and cataract surgery, at the world famous Lion's Eye Institute in Perth, Australia and the UK.
I am a very experienced ophthalmologist who has worked in this field for 29 years. I have performed many procedures including over 10,000 cataract operations.
I graduated from Manchester University medical school in 1987. I hold full fellowship of the British Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as a master's degree in neuroscience from London University and a doctorate in Ophthalmology from Liverpool University. I take great pride in being able to explain complicated eye conditions, from diagnosis to treatment, in a straightforward and approachable manner. I am always happy to answer any questions my patients have about their eye condition.
