Specialises in
I was schooled in Sedbergh located in the South Lakes prior to completing my undergraduate medical training at Manchester University in 2004. I completed my Urology specialist training within the North West Deanery and was appointed as an NHS Urologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust in 2021.
I have developed a specialist interest in pelvic uro-oncology, with a particular focus on the diagnostics and treatment of bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer. Involvement in open complex pelvic surgery is further complemented by developments in a robotic pelvic service.
I provide a personal and bespoke consultation to the needs of the individual in a professional and courteous manner. I strive to provide explanation and understanding for the condition in question, promoting patient-centered care and empowered treatment decisions.
I have an active clinical research portfolio which resulted in a higher degree of MD at the University of Manchester in 2016. This research was based at the Christie NHS Foundation trust and in collaboration with the STAMPEDE team. This work investigated the utility of metastatic burden in prostate cancer as a biomarker for docetaxel and abiraterone treatment. This was presented at the Presidential Symposium of ESMO and resulted in multiple high impact publications with international practice changing implications.
I have a keen interest in the medical training of students and other allied health professionals in both the undergraduate and postgraduate setting. This forms the core basis of values behind my continuous professional development.
I am part of a multidisciplinary team, which includes two female urologists, offering a comprehensive range of treatments for a variety of urological conditions.
