I am a Consultant General Surgeon and have a busy laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery practice. I perform advanced laparoscopic surgery for gallstones, abdominal wall hernias and hiatus hernias (reflux disease). I also perform keyhole surgery for abdominal pain relief.
I qualified at St Mary's in 1991 and joined as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. My post graduate training took place in Leicester and Nottingham, including a period of research for a Doctor of Medicine thesis. To complete my training I undertook an advanced HPB and laparoscopic fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA.
In addition to this I perform over 80 major pancreas resections per year.
I am the surgical lead and vice-chairman for pancreatic disease within the Yorkshire Cancer Network. I also have an active research programme in benign and malignant pancreatic disease and medical education.
