BM, BS
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital. I see adult patients privately with spinal problems.
My surgical training was carried out in Sheffield and I also completed Fellowships in spinal surgery in Nottingham, Brisbane and America.
I have an interest in outcome evaluation and research and have completed two theses on spinal deformity (idiopathic, scoliosis), the first of these as a medical student. I was a co-developer of the British Spine Registry – used nationally to collect data after spinal surgery.
I am an active member of the British Scoliosis Society, British Association of Spinal Surgeons, British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association of Clinical Anatomists (Member of Council). I also work for NHS England as Chair of the Spinal Services CRG and Clinical Lead for the Regional Spinal Networks Project.
I also work full-time in the NHS at both Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the Northern General Hospital.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Ashley Cole at Spire include:
