Specialises in
I have been a Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon for eight years, and have been based at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust since 2018. My main areas of specialty are in the management of reflux and hiatus hernias, gallstone disease and abdominal wall hernias.
I perform a wide range of general and UGI surgical operations. I specialise in keyhole operations to treat reflux and hiatus hernias, and gallstone disease. I also perform a wide range of abdominal wall and groin hernia operations (using both keyhole and open surgery), and upper GI endoscopy.
I have performed over 1,000 laparoscopic procedures to treat gallstones, reflux, hiatus hernias and abdominal wall hernias, and my rates of conversion to open surgery are extremely low.
I am the Clinical Lead for Upper GI cancer and Emergency Surgical Care at Stockport, and was recently recognised with an 'Inspirational Leader Award' for my teams work in improving the care pathways for patients recently diagnosed with oesophageal and stomach cancer. Also in my current and previous hospitals, I worked with colleagues to introduce two different keyhole operations to manage bile duct stones in both patients with normal anatomy, and those who had previous obesity surgery.
