I was appointed as a Consultant in 2013 and have more than 20 years’ experience as a skilled laparoscopic surgeon dealing with complex laparoscopic cases. I am a Consultant Surgeon dealing with Renal Transplant, General and Endocrine surgery.
I have performed close to 1,000 laparoscopic procedures, including complex laparoscopic cases such as donor nephrectomies and incisional hernias.
As a General Surgeon I perform laparoscopic procedures such as hernia - groin, incisional and recurrent, cholecystectomies and operate on lumps and bumps.
In relation to Endocrine Surgery, I have completed a specialist fellowship at Sheffield. My expertise covers surgeries for both thyroid and parathyroid disease to include cancer and I am part of the cancer core MDT team in the NHS.
Under Transplant, I also lead the live donor surgery programme at UHL and carry out complex laparoscopic donor surgery, renal transplants and vascular access and I have mentored Consultant Surgeons in London in complex laparoscopic donor surgery.
I hold an Honorary Associate Professorship at the University of Leicester and am an educational supervisor for the specialist trainees and junior doctors.
In February 2021 I was awarded a National Excellence Award: Excellence in Delivering Patient Care by NHSBT/BTS and in April 20201, UHL presented me with a Caring at it's Best Award.
