I did my undergraduate and postgraduate surgical training in Edinburgh at the Royal, Western General Hospital and St John's Hospital in Livingston, where I developed my interest in plastic surgery.

This was followed by a short period in Canniesburn, plastic surgery unit, Glasgow, before undertaking a two year plastic surgery research degree in Sydney, Australia.

I then returned to the North East of England to complete my higher surgical training programme in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. As a nationally appointed fellow in oncoplastic breast surgery I extended my breast surgery experience.

On completion of my training programme I was awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons, England a BASO oncoplastic travelling scholarship to the university hospitals in Gent, Belgium and the Crawford Long Hospital, Atlanta, USA.

While in the States I spent an enjoyable time working within a purely aesthetics practice in California. In the States I consolidated my experience in facial aesthetic surgery including, face-lifting, brow lifting, eyelid rejuvenation surgery, body contouring in particular after weight loss surgery.

I recently started my consultant post in St John's Hospital in Livingston where I specialise in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.
