I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Leeds specialising in upper limb surgery. My special interests include the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder injuries, particularly reconstructive surgery for shoulder instability and rotator cuff repairs. Likewise I have an interest in treating sports related elbow injuries with minimally invasive, arthroscopic and open techniques. I also offer elbow replacement surgery.
I was appointed as a consultant at Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust in 2012. I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2000, before entering into surgical training in the Yorkshire region.
After completing a postgraduate masters (MSc) by Research in Mechanical Engineering, I was appointed to the Yorkshire Orthopaedics and Trauma Higher Surgical Training Programme.
I quickly developed an interest in upper limb, sports and arthroscopic surgery and went on to achieve my Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2010. I progressed to fellowship training in upper limb surgery at the internationally renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit and then at the Sheffield Shoulder and Elbow Unit.
With an evidence-based practice, I believe in research that involves populations of patients being treated by populations of surgeons. I have published many articles in peer reviewed orthopaedic journals and contributed to textbooks.
