I am an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. I specialise in gynaecology with a special interest in urogynaecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery (pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence).

I have a keen interest in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic or keyhole surgery) and have been developing this service at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. I maintain a log of all my cases on a database (a secure database maintained by the British Society of Urogynaecology, BSUG) and all cases are audited regularly to review outcomes of procedures to inform my patients.

After completion of specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, I pursued my interest further in female pelvic floor problems (prolapse and incontinence). My keen interest in urogynaecology led me to train with a number of subspecialists in urogynaecology in the UK. I am a subspecialist urogynaecologist and have done a Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) accredited fellowship in Urogynaecology.

I am the lead for Urogynaecology and Pelvic reconstructive surgery unit at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. The Centre has been accredited by the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) for the high standards of care. I am actively involved in the activities of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) and the International Continence Society (ICS).

I have a keen interest in medical education and have a Master’s degree in Medical Education. I am closely involved in the training of specialty trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology. I am an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Bristol. I have published in peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters.
