Specialises in

  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • MAKO robot assisted total hip replacement

I am an NHS Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. My specialist interest lies in primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Having undertaken the prestigious Robin Ling Exeter Hip Fellowship in 2023, I have developed a specialist interest in robot assisted total hip replacements using the MAKO robot.

As a graduate from the University of Leeds in 2011, I have undertaken a foundation, core and then higher surgical training in the Yorkshire & Humber Deanery. During this time I  acquired an MSc in Medical Engineering, which involved studying how the correct bio mechanics and correct implant materials which can increase the longevity of joint replacements.

I pride myself on treating and respecting patients as individuals and I am a great believer in doing the right operation for the right patient for the right reason. This leads to good outcomes and low complication rates.

Outside of my surgical practice, I have a great interest in training and developing the next generation of surgeons. I have a PG Certificate in Medical Education. I have sat on numerous national and international training and education committees and remain a member of the RCS Edinburgh Faculty of Surgical Trainers.

My other interest lies in clinical leadership and I have previously undertaken a year as a clinical leadership fellow focusing on how human factors and non-technical skills can improve surgical performance and outcomes.
