MB BS, FRCS

Please note, for thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), please call Mr Chan's secretary on 0151 347 8965 to confirm appointment times and costing

I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon and have provided specialist vascular treatment since 2006. In the Spire hospitals, I see patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic problems.

I treat patients with varicose veins including pelvic congestion syndrome, difficulty in walking due to circulation impairment, surgery to prevent strokes and diabetic feet. I also treat patients with excessive sweating and facial flushing.

I have dealt with the whole range of vascular surgery and continue to provide both elective and emergency vascular care in these hospitals. My index vascular outcomes are publicly accessible through the National Vascular Registry.

My special interest is in the management of patients with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). The TOS clinic is part of my vascular practice and I have had the privilege to help improve the quality of life of a significant number of such patients. I have close links with my counterparts in the United States, have done a TOS fellowship there, and have certification in upper limb physical therapy.

I offer the full range of TOS procedures including video-assisted TOS surgery, vein reconstruction for Paget-Schroetter syndrome and revisional surgery. My TOS practice is based on established professional society guidelines and is audited regularly using patients own reported outcome measures. The TOS clinic is available to patients within the UK as well as international patients.

My NHS practice is based at the Countess of Chester Hospital and Wirral University Teaching Hospital. I also have an honorary contract with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
