I am a full-time dedicated Consultant Breast Surgeon treating breast cancer and breast benign conditions. I have 17 years' experience working in the NHS. Purely specialising in breast surgery means I am highly focused and so my clinical practice is always up to date with the latest treatment advances and research in my field. I strongly believe in giving patients the best care tailored to their individual needs.
I treat patients for breast cancer, breast reconstruction, benign breast conditions, breast pain, nipple discharge, breast infections and genetic risk reduction. I will discuss with you the optimal care to suit your individual circumstances.
I am highly experienced in performing cancer lumpectomy, lumpectomy with mammoplasty or partial flap reconstruction, mastectomy, mastectomy with implant reconstruction, sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary node clearance, nipple duct operations, removal of benign breast lumps such as fibroadenoma or cysts and revisions after previous cancer surgery such as symmetrising surgery with breast reduction. I do not offer male gynaecomastia surgery.
I also practice in the NHS at Pinderfields Hospital and am the Clinical Lead Consultant for Breast Services.
I believe that patient safety is of the utmost importance and will see you in a caring environment with modern state-of-the art facilities at Spire Methley Park Hospital. In my NHS practice I am the MDT lead and work closely with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, radiologists and pathologists to ensure excellent patient care. I am therefore well placed to discuss with you about any breast related issues or concerns you have.
In my role as Clinical Lead I work closely with other surgeons and managers and have led drives to develop the Mid Yorkshire breast service including the adoption of innovative technology to enable better patient care and optimal service delivery.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am also active in medical education to train junior doctors and am an Educational Supervisor.
I work closely with the Research department at Mid Yorkshire and I am Principal Investigator for multiple national trials including ATNEC, MARECA, Approach and Pre-Dx. I have also presented research and audit work at international conferences and published extensively in peer reviewed medical journals.
Prior to commencing my Consultant Mid Yorkshire NHS post in 2020, I completed a National Oncoplastic Breast TiG Fellowship at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and before this I completed my training in Yorkshire and London. I completed a Masters degree in Surgical Simulation.
