I am a fully accredited consultant surgeon on the General Medical Council's specialist register for Upper Gastro-Intestinal and Laparoscopic surgery and a consultant in the NHS at the City and Sandwell Hospitals NHS Trust. I also work as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Birmingham.
I qualified and trained in general surgery and obtained the FRCS fellowship qualification in surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow 1997 and completion of specialist surgical training, Certificate of Completion of Training, (CCT).
I teach surgical skills and techniques to the trainees in Surgery who will be the consultant surgeons of the future. I have a regular commitment in various training courses, teaching laparoscopic surgery, as a supervisor introducing junior surgeons to surgery, and as a supervisor to medical students studying medicine at the University of Birmingham.
During my training I spent one month in the national cancer centre, Tokyo, Japan, and also visited the Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer centre, New York, USA.
I run a successful private practice in Upper GI surgery, Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and laparoscopic hernias and in laparoscopic anti reflux surgery (Nissen Fundoplication).
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Dham Mobarak at Spire include:

I have been involved in writing the relevant guidelines for my NHS trust. I have been involved in academic research; Multicentric prospective project was conducted on 460 elderly cancers for their Preoperative Assessment of Cancer in Elderly (PACE). Six papers and three presentations came out of it.
I have also undertaken a project on Japanese D2 extended lymph node dissection in a British population: analysis of survival results, the results were published in peer-review professional journals.
