I am a Consultant Vascular Surgeon. I qualified in Sheffield in 1993 and then trained in the Yorkshire Region obtaining my CCT in General Surgery in 2009. For the past eight years I have worked as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon for the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. During this time I have accrued significant clinical experience in disorders of the arteries, veins and lymphatics.
Surgical procedures that I have expertise in include microsclerotherapy (spider veins), Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) / VNUS Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) / Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy / Venaseal and ‘High Tie’ (varicose veins), Carotid Endarterectomy (mini strokes), AAA Repair (open or endovascular (EVAR)), Femoro popliteal bypass, First Rib Resection (thoracic outlet syndrome) and axillary Botox or curettage (hyperhidrosis). With my background in general surgery I continue to perform regular hernia surgery, lipoma and skin lesion excision.
Since appointment I have performed over 180 Carotid Endarterectomy, 155 AAA repairs and 500 peripheral bypass procedures. All outcome data are submitted to the Vascular Services Quality Improvement Programme.
My clinical areas of interest include varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), thoracic outlet syndrome, the diabetic foot, compartment syndrome, hyperhidrosis and lymphoedema.

I am a father to two daughters and the bulk of my spare time is dedicated to them. I enjoy attending the gym and play five-a-side football. In between children and exams we have renovated four houses over the past few years.
