"The atmosphere is supportive with the entire staff committed to putting the patients first."
I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon in 2008 at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. I specialise in knee and shoulder surgery, providing a complete practice ranging from sports injuries to revision joint replacement surgery. I am often referred complex cases from around the region for second opinions and have access to newer techniques and solutions.
In my knee practise, I specialise in joint preservation surgery along with osteotomy, meniscal repair and cartilage restoration. I perform over 150 knee replacements a year, along with partial knee replacements and revision knee surgery. In my shoulder work, I am a specialist in arthroscopic surgery which includes operative solutions for rotator cuff tears and sports injuries. I also regularly perform primary and reverse shoulder replacement surgery.
I see 1,300 new patient referrals and perform over 400 operative procedures a year. I perform over 150 knee replacement operations a year with around 10% being partial knee replacements. I have performed over 300 ACL reconstructions and over 2,000 knee arthroscopies. I also provide solutions for irreparable cuff tears with superior capsular reconstructions, subacromial balloons and reverse shoulder replacements.
I am the clinical lead for knee and shoulder surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, as well as an academy teacher for the University of Birmingham Medical School.
