MBBS, MS Orth, MRCS Ed, FRCS Trauma & Orth
"With its amazing staff, friendly atmosphere and great theatre and outpatient facilities; for my private practice, I could not think of any better option than working at Spire Southampton Hospital."
I have been a Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant for 10 years now. I have worked as a consultant in two countries, two different healthcare settings (public and private) and amassed a wide based experience in managing complex conditions. My fellowship at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital gave me a broad based exposure to the whole spectrum of paediatric orthopaedic conditions whereas my fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London gave me a unique exposure to paediatric hand surgery.
I have been privileged to have a wide exposure to paediatric orthopaedics from a very early stage of my medical career. I have therefore performed a wide spectrum of paediatric orthopaedic surgeries, but my special interest lies in paediatric upper limb and knee surgeries.
Paediatric orthopaedics is a unique sub specialty of orthopaedics. It encompasses looking after every body part of upper and lower limb in a child rather than focusing on one joint. I have performed over 2,000 surgeries on children since becoming a consultant.
I have a keen interest in research and supervise medical student research projects from Southampton University every year.
I have been an invited faculty for a number of courses and conferences while in India and in the UK. I have been part of the organising committee for the BSCOS annual conference in 2023.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Farokh Wadia at Spire include:
Orthopaedics
Other treatments
The whole spectrum of paediatric orthopaedic surgeries which include hips, clubfoot, cerebral palsy, deformity correction and foot, but my special interests are upper limb paediatrics, and adolescent knees.
