MBChB, FRCS (Tr&Orth)
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, specialising in knee surgery with specialist interest in knee preservation and knee osteotomy surgery.
As a specialist knee surgeon I offer surgical treatment for all knee conditions excluding revision knee replacement.
I have been involved in over 3,500 operations in my career. Having commenced consultant practice in April 2023. My current annual number of cases is roughly 90 total knee replacements, 40 partial knee replacements, 50 ACL reconstructions (including revision and multi-ligament cases), 80 knee arthroscopy and 20 knee osteotomies.
I also perform trauma surgery as part of the orthopaedic on call service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
Having completed my training in 2021, I completed the Sheffield Knee Fellowship and a renowned fellowship as the final fellow of Mr Matt Dawson, an international authority on knee osteotomy. As a result I have a preference for knee preservation wherever possible, and allows me to offer individualised treatment to patients depending upon their aspirations and goals. Where necessary, I have significant experience in knee replacement surgery, with this forming approximately 50% of my NHS practice.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Graeme Hancock at Spire include:
