I have been a full time NHS Consultant Surgeon for more than 10 years and work in the Scottish Borders.
Areas of clinical interest include sorts injuries of the foot and ankle, bunion surgery, big toe joint preservation and fusion surgery. Minimally invasive surgery, ultrasound guided injections, toe deformity corrections, complex foot reconstruction, plantar fascia surgery, achilles repair, ankle fusion, ankle arthroscopy, ankle instability surgery and rheumatoid foot surgery.
After retiring as a professional rugby player, I have been fortunate to have had excellent specialist training in foot and ankle surgery including a fellowship in Baltimore, USA learning from Dr Mark Myerson, one of the founding fathers of many of the modern techniques.
I am a member of the British Foot and Ankle Society and have a number of research interests.
