Mr Graham M Lawson

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

MB ChB, FRCS (Ed), FRCSEd (Orth)

I work as part of an Orthopaedic partnership - Edinburgh Orthopaedic Specialists Ltd - based here in Edinburgh.

My main areas of clinical practice at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital are arthroscopic surgery of the knee (including knee replacement) and ankle, ligament reconstruction of the knee and ankle and primary and revision lower limb arthroplasty.

An area of particular interest is the management of sports injuries. I am a member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine and have regular clinics at the Fitness Assessment and Sports Injury Clinic at the University of Edinburgh, as well as fortnightly sports injury clinics at St John's Hospital in Livingston.

I am one of a group of orthopaedic surgeons providing orthopaedic expertise for the Scottish Rugby Union and I am currently one of the orthopaedic surgeons for Scottish Institute of Sport and regularly see players from the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).

My base NHS hospital is the New Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh where, in addition to knee surgery, I am a member of the arthroplasty team. I perform both primary and revision knee and hip arthroplasty with my own practice providing much of the orthopaedic care for the Edinburgh Haemophilia Service.
