I started as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals in 2011. My speciality interests include primary and revision total hip replacement, primary knee replacement, and knee arthroscopic debridements. I have also undertaken pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery and complex lower limb trauma surgery.
I also undertake lower limb trauma surgery at Aintree University Hospital. I co-founded the Liverpool Metastatic Bone Disease Service (LiMBS) that specialises in surgical management of patients with metastatic bone disease of long bones – endoprosthetic replacements, complex joint reconstructions and bone stabilisation procedures.
I am clinical lead for elective orthopaedics at Broadgreen Hospital liaising between Hospital management and clinical colleagues to provide a high class efficient service for patients.
As part of medical teaching, I supervise medical students from University of Liverpool and specialist trainees in Trauma and Orthopaedics from Northwest Deanery. I also teach in regional and national FRCS courses. As well as this, I am a faculty member of AO Trauma.
I have undertaken various clinical projects. I was appointed Principal Investigator at Royal Liverpool University Hospital for a multicentre randomised control trial on surgery for femoral neck fractures. I have presented various clinical reports nationally and internationally and published in peer reviewed journals.
