I am the Clinical Lead and Consultant in Breast Surgery at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. I carry out more than 250 breast cancer surgeries every year and see more than 1,500 women with breast symptoms every year. I am one of the first surgeons in the United Kingdom to successfully complete both the Masters in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (Europe's highest qualification in Oncoplastic breast surgery – www.uea.ac.uk) and the prestigious UK National TIG Oncoplastic fellowship.
I specialise exclusively in breast surgery covering all aspects of breast care including breast cancer, benign breast diseases, family history of breast cancer, risk reducing mastectomy, breast reconstruction and implant based breast surgery. My special interest is therapeutic mammaplasty (use of plastic surgical techniques to provide best outcomes after breast cancer surgery).
I specialise in all aspects of breast surgery including breast cancer, breast reconstruction, benign breast diseases, one stop breast assessment, breast screening, breast lump evaluation, evaluation of breast pain and nipple discharge, pregnancy associated breast problems, male breast diseases and gynaecomastia. I perform all breast surgical procedures including mastectomy, breast conservation, wide local excision (lumpectomy), sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary surgery, therapeutic mammaplasty, risk reducing mastectomy and breast implant surgery.
I was the President of the UK Breast Surgery Trainees association (The Mammary Fold) and the Ex-officio committee member of the Association of Breast Surgery, UK in 2014-15. During this role I led this group of around 500 members in various educational and research activities and interacted with the leading breast surgeons in the UK.
I am a faculty for the Masters in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (University of East Anglia) course. I also provide a one-stop breast clinic service at Spire Wellesley Hospital for those who have concerns regarding their breast health.
