I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with University Hospitals of Leicester NHS trust. After completing my primary medical qualification and Master’s degree in Orthopaedics from India, I undertook higher surgical training in Orthopaedics from Leicester (East Midlands south rotation). I completed an Upper Limb Fellowship in Wrightington and Royal Northshore Hospital, Sydney, Australia and returned to Leicester as Upper Limb Orthopaedic Consultant. My interests include shoulder (osteoarthritis, impingement syndrome, rotator cuff pathology and unstable shoulder), elbow (arthritis and instability) and hand and wrist disorders. I work with a team of anaesthetic and orthopaedics surgery colleagues promoting Awake upper limb surgery.
I have a PhD in Health Sciences from University of Leicester and continue to participate in research collaborations on a local, national and international level. I am committed to continuing development of my professional and academic career and have published articles in Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Bone and Joint Journal, Shoulder and Elbow, Journal of Hand Surgery (American) and Journal of Hand Surgery (European). I have completed collaborative projects with research units in Netherlands and Australia.
I have completed a number of travelling fellowships with Royal College of Surgeons of England, British Orthopaedic Association, British Hand Society, European Hand Society and have recently been awarded a prestigious ESSKA ALWIN JAGER Senior Fellowship.
