BSc (Hons), FRCS (Tr&Orth)
I am a UK trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising exclusively in problems with the knee. I qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in London in 2002 and went on to complete my specialist orthopaedic training in the South West Thames region. On completion of the FRCS exam I travelled to Australia to work in the world famous North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre under the guidance of Professor Leo Pinczewski.
I was appointed as a substantive consultant at Heatherwood Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust in October 2013. I have published numerous articles on knee surgery and continue to actively participate in research.
Philosophy: I follow carefully the advancement in treatment of all conditions affecting the knee. I read numerous scientific journals and regularly attend both national and international meetings to keep my own techniques as up to date as possible. My job as a surgeon is to only apply surgical techniques and treatments that have been tried and tested successfully, with good results in renowned orthopaedic units worldwide. I will always try to consider more than one option for a knee problem and present these to each patient in an understandable way, in particular the likely outcome of not having an operation.
The services I offer are: knee arthroscopy (key-hole surgery) and reconstruction of torn cartilage and ligaments, cartilage regeneration procedures, osteotomy around the knee, partial and total knee replacement, adult and paediatric.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Henry Bourke at Spire include:
Orthopaedics
Other treatments

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
I am married with two children. Outside of the hospital I enjoy a multitude of sporting activities including tennis, skiing and golf.
