I trained at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, Intercalated BSc in History of Medicine at UCH. I completed my basic surgical training at Frimley Park Hospital, Specialist Registrar in the South West Thames region.
My initial training was in laparoscopic and upper GI surgery, spending six months in the oesophago-gastric unit at St Thomas' Hospital. I developed sub-specialty interest in colorectal surgery during two years of research at the Mattu Unit in Guildford.
My last year of training was in Adelaide, Australia, working in a specialist colorectal unit, before taking up a consultant post at Frimley Park Hospital. My specialist interests are based around laparoscopic and colorectal surgery; further interests include pelvic floor disorders and faecal incontinence.
I have taught on laparoscopic courses at Frimley Park, Mattu Guildford and in Hamburg.

I am married to Fiona who is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon; we have a son and daughter. My interests include sport, music, mountain-biking, kitesurfing, reading, golf, squash and bridge.
