BSc(Hons), MBChB, MSc, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Northern General Hospital, with a private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital. I specialise in all conditions related to the foot and ankle in adults including trauma, sports injuries and diabetic feet.
I studied Medicine at Manchester University and completed my basic surgical training in the North West of England. After developing an interest in Orthopaedic Surgery I undertook my higher surgical training in Leeds and Cambridge. During this period I gained an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University, studying the effects of using locking plates for fractures.
Throughout my training I was interested in foot and ankle surgery and came to Sheffield to undertake a one year Fellowship in adult foot and ankle surgery in July 2010. After this, I became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the North West and was appointed as a full time Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in October 2013. I am actively involved in research and teaching for the South Yorkshire Orthopaedic Rotation.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Howard Davies at Spire include:
