I have worked in hospitals in London (Harefield) and Southampton, UK. Having been conferred the status of Fellow both by the British as well as the European Cardiac Surgical Boards, I was awarded the prestigious Ethicon Scholarship by the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, UK, to sub-specialise in mitral and aortic valve repair with Professor Gebrine ElKhoury at Saint-Luc University Hosiptal (Brussels) followed by Minimally Invasive Mitral Repair with Professor Hugo Vanermen at OLV clinic (Aalst, Belgium). On my return to UK, I completed another sub-specialty fellowship in minimally invasive aortic valve surgery and TAVI at the St Thomas Hospital, London.

I maintain an active involvement in research through my Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of Bristol. I am faculty on various international training courses and have held the position of Associate Editor of the valve section of ICVTS/EJCTS journal. He is the lead author on 2 books on minimally invasive valve surgery.
