I graduated from Leeds Medical School with honours in 2000. Following basic surgical training, I was appointed to the Yorkshire orthopaedic training programme in 2005. I was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and was added to the Specialist Register for Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2011.
I undertook two fellowships during this period. In 2011 I worked with Nick London in Harrogate, gaining expertise in all aspects of knee surgery. And in 2012, prior to my appointment at Calderdale, I undertook an arthroplasty fellowship in York, specialising in all forms of knee and hip replacement.

I am married with two young sons and spend most of my time outside of work either with my family or playing sport. I am a keen runner and have run several marathons and half marathons. I also play golf regularly and manage to maintain a single figure handicap.
