I specialise entirely in the treatment of knee conditions and am able to offer a wide variety of treatments including arthroscopic techniques and ligament reconstruction, joint saving surgery, and partial and total knee replacement.

I believe strongly in maximising the use of non-surgical treatments before considering surgery. I also utilise tried and tested techniques rather than new fads, but do like to introduce new methods when there is a good reason or evidence to do so. An example would be the use of robotics in knee surgery, which I established as a first in the NHS in 2018.

I lead the Orthopaedic research department at the Queen Alexandra Hospital and the collaboration with the University of Portsmouth. We run a variety of projects including investigating the use of stem cell treatments in the knee, advances in ACL reconstruction and innovations using technology and artificial intelligence in health care.

After graduating from the University of Leeds, I completed my basic surgical and higher orthopaedic training in the Yorkshire region, before being appointed to a substantive consultant post at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Jul 2014. I have also spent a year on one of the world's most prestigious knee Fellowships with Dr Peter Myers in Australia.
