Specialises in
I have been in Consultant practice both in the NHS and the private sector since 1999. My training included specialist fellowships in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery in London, and in all areas of modern breast surgery practice at the Marie Curie Institute in Paris.
Within my private practice, I have extensive experience in all areas of breast and body surgery with over 20 years' experience, including breast enlargement, breast rejuvenation surgery following weight loss and pregnancies, complex congenital and developmental breast asymmetries, breast reduction and breast lifting surgery. I also regularly perform corrective breast surgery on patients from other institutions who have unsatisfactory outcomes.
Further to this, I have extensive experience in the use of fat grafting (lipomodelling) techniques.
I also have significant experience in abdominal wall rejuvenation surgery including abdominoplasty ('tummy tuck'), mini abdominoplasty, body lifting, thigh and arm reduction surgery and liposuction following pregnancies and massive weight loss after gastric bypass/banding procedures.
I am a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstruction and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the Association of Breast Surgeons (ABS) and the European Association of Plastic Surgeons (EURAPS). I am also Certified in Cosmetic Surgery and Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures by the Royal College of Surgeons Cosmetic Surgery Certification Scheme.
Within my NHS practice, I am an expert in breast reconstruction and in particular the use of microvascular techniques to solve particularly challenging problems. I was also the clinical lead for the breast cancer service at my NHS Trust for four years.
Throughout my career I have been involved in a large number of national committees with BAPRAS and EURAPS aimed at improving the teaching, training and regulation of plastic surgery. As a result I was the recipient of a national silver award from the Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards in 2021. I am a member of a number of national and international expert panels on breast implants and regularly provide my expert opinion to the courts in clinical negligence cases. In addition, I have published extensively in the plastic and breast surgery scientific literature.
