Mr John Hardy

I am a full-time private consultant in orthopaedics and trauma at Spire Bristol Hospital and the Cromwell Hospital. I am registered with all healthcare insurers and accept private GP and sports injury clinic referrals. I specialise in knee, hand surgery and sports medicine.

I am now able to offer my patients, during consultation, a range of knee braces and supports.

I was awarded the sought after MD in 1997. This was completed over a four year period and included the publication of a thesis on fracture healing. In this work I characterised two of the most accurate measurements of fracture healing available.

I have had a broad training and wide experience in orthopaedic and trauma surgery. I have been awarded The Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and am therefore privileged to be listed in the General Medical Council Specialist Register. I am a recognised 'provider' in the Advanced Trauma Life Support Scheme.

I have published the outcome of a personally treated series of 100 footballers who had broken their shins during the sport. I now lecture to clubs on the prevention of injury in sport and have advised the British Standards Institute on protective clothing in sport. I am a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma Association.

I am unable to see patients with Domestic BUPA, PruHealth or AXA PPP insurance unless you opt to self-pay as these companies will not meet my standard fees or allow me to claim the shortfall from patients insured under these policies. All other internationally insured, UK insured and self-pay customers are welcome to see me.
