I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I qualified from the University of Melboune, Australia. Subsequent to this I have trained in General Medicine (MRCP) followed by Opthalmology in the Cambridgeshire region. I hold membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) London and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).

My specialist training in Ophthalmology was undertaken in Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. During this time, I completed advanced subspecialty fellowship training in the medical and surgical management of retinal disorders. Between 2010 - 2011 I was involved in stem cell and artificial retina (bionic eye) research in Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology in London.

I was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge in 2011. My specialist interests include retinal disorders, including the management of age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, diabetic eye disease and also vitreo-retinal surgery for retinal detachment, macula disorders and complications of diabetic eye disease.

I also have an interest in complex cataract surgery including the use of premium intraocular lenses including toric and multifocal intraocular lenses.

Leadership positions include: Royal College of Ophthalmologist, Royal College of Physicians (London), British and Eire Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons, European Society of Retinal Specialist, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and United Kingdom & Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
