I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2009. I specialise in hip, knee and sports surgery and my specialist interest is in joint preservation surgery and orthobiologics.
My clinical interest and experience lies in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. I am able to offer a tailored service to my patient as I perform joint preservation surgery through to ligament reconstruction and hip and knee replacement. I also help patients who are looking towards non surgical options to manage their condition using advanced rehabilitation techniques, bracing and biologics. Where appropriate I use 3D computer planning and custom implants in addition to cutting edge care using stem cells and platelet rich plasma, collating my outcomes.
On the National Joint Registry I perform over 200 hip and knee replacements a year. I am a skilled arthroscopic surgeon and perform a high volume amount of knee and hip arthroscopy and arthroscopic ligament reconstruction. I continue to maintain an NHS Trauma Service dealing with complex periprosthetic fractures and paediatric injuries as well as other aspects of trauma surgery.
I am passionate about my role as the Director of Medical Education and place a strong emphasis on postgraduate orthopaedic training. I lecture on a number of orthopaedic courses and am an author reviewer for a number of prestigious journals.
I am the chairman of a unique group of orthopaedic surgeons that work together in the NHS and privately. The group aim is to provide a multi-specialty service with the benefits of collaborative and innovative working. We pride ourselves in providing a bespoke service of the highest standard dealing with the whole patient and their entire hospital journey.
