I am a Consultant General Ophthalmologist. I graduated from the University of Delhi in 1983. After doing my initial basic training, I started training in the field of Ophthalmology and was awarded a Masters Degree in Surgery (Ophthalmology).
This degree was granted by the University of Delhi. During my MS Ophthalmology, I was involved in research in the fitting of Gas-permeable contact lenses. In the same hospital, I was a senior resident (Senior Registrar).
My specialist training in the United Kingdom was in Leeds United Teaching Hospitals and regional rotations. During this period I worked at St James' University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary and York District Hospital.
After specialist training, I was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth, Wales where I worked for over seven years and was a Lead Clinician. I have been appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Wrexham Maelor Hospital since March 2004.
I have a special interest in managing Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Disease. I perform suture-less phacoemulsification for my routine cataract surgery and also perform all types of routine ocular and extra-ocular surgery.

Besides being an Ophthalmologist I have great interest in Information and Technology with a special interest in database designing. In my leisure time I like to draw pictures and water colour painting. As an outdoor pursuit, I like to fly model aeroplanes.
