I graduated from Mysore University in India, and trained in urology in the North East of England, which is one of the most prestigious training programmes in the UK. I currently see both men and women with a range of urological conditions (eg problems with urination, infection, stones, and incontinence), but also specialise in the management of cancer patients (prostate, kidney, bladder and penile) and male genital (sexual organ, andrology) problems. I am an expert in keyhole and robotic surgery, having undertaken specialist (fellowship) training in world-famous centres in Spain and USA. I am one of the few robotic prostatectomy surgeons in the North East and one of the high volume surgeons.

My interests are general urology, andrology including peyronies disease, cancer care including diagnostics and treatment.

I now have performed more than 600 robotic prostatectomies with excellent results and patient satisfaction. I pride myself on my holistic (looking at the patient as a whole) approach to patient care, by listening carefully to my patients, needs and expectations, rather than focusing solely on the medical diagnosis. I have a multi-disciplinary (ie involving other specialists) approach to the treatment of my patients, and enjoy working closely with my colleagues both in NHS and in the private sector.

More recently, I have undertaken more complex robotic procedures (eg ureterolysis, ureteric reimplantation).

I have been the educational lead, enhanced recovery champion and currently the cancer lead for urology in the NHS.

I hold an MD research degree in prostate cancer from the Northern Institute for Cancer Research at Newcastle University, and have published extensively in the field. I am an honorary Senior Lecturer and take an active part in teaching and urology research for Newcastle and Sunderland universities.
