BDS, MDS(OMFS), MFDS RCS (Eng), FFD RCSI (Oral Med and Oral Surg)

Specialises in

  • Oral medicine
  • Oro facial pain
  • Jaw cyst removal
  • Wisdom teeth removal
  • Tongue tie

I specialise in the management of deeply impacted wisdom teeth and the management of cysts of the maxillofacial skeleton. I have performed over several thousands (on average 600 - 700 cases a year) of oral surgical procedures over the last five years as a consultant oral surgeon. Most commonly I perform surgical removal of teeth, exposures of impacted teeth and the surgical management of cysts in the maxillofacial region.

I have been a consultant oral surgeon since September 2011 and previously an associate specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery since 2008.

I organise and run an annual oral surgery symposium at national level, delivering a high standard of education for oral surgeons and other healthcare clinicians to improve the standard and delivery of care in oral surgery.

I'm a teacher and trainer for postgraduate dentists who specialise in oral surgery and am a senior lecturer at the University of Leeds. In addition to my clinical work I am an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. I'm also an Editorial Reviewer for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GP letter of referral.

Consultant Oral Surgeon, Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Leeds.

My time away from the hospital is spent with my children, and I'm involved in most of their activities. I play cricket and am a collage-maker turning pictures from magazines into personal statements. These provide the perfect balance to the stresses and strains of the work environment.
