I was initially appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Chelmsford in 2019. I qualified from Nottingham University in 2006 and completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2015.
I originally qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2006 with a first class honours degree (Bachelor in Medical Science) alongside my medical qualification. I did my very early training the Nottinghamshire region before pursuing surgical training in the Southwest. I completed Urological training as a prestigious Academic Clinical Fellow in the East of England based out of Cambridge University. Here I obtained a very competitive grant with funding from Medical Research Council for my research on the detection of prostate cancer which led to the award of my PhD from the University of Cambridge. I have trained in a wide field of local hospitals including Addenbrookes, Ipswich and the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.
I have multiple publications. I have presented widely on a range of urological topics at national and international conferences and meetings, and have won several prizes for my work. My key clinical interests include Robotic and laparoscopic surgery for kidney cancers and benign kidney and adrenal conditions as well as diagnostic urology, treatment of urological infections, surgery for prostatic enlargement, kidney stones and penoscrotal conditions.
I am the current Clinical Lead of the Department of Urology at Broomfield Hospital and have led several innovative projects to improve patient outcomes. I am a passionate educator with Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. I am an Associate Clinical Lecturer with Anglia Ruskin University Medical School as a head of year and I am involved in both lecturing and bedside teaching, as well as mentorship and examining several cohorts of medical students from Barts and the London as well as ARU in Chelmsford.

I am the current co-clinical lead for Urology at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, the year 2 lead for the clinical attachments for Anglia Ruskin University. I am a module co-lead for the national Urology Bootcamp, a compulsory course for all new urology trainees.

I am married to Deepa, a local optometrist, with two very young boys who take up most of my time! In any spare time that I have, I like to cook, enjoy keeping fit at the gym and I am a keen petrolhead with a passion for cars and motorcycles.
