MBChB, MD, MRCOG
My primary interests are in endometriosis, subfertility, benign gynaecology such as menstrual disorders, ovarian adnexal masses, female sterilisation, menopause, pelvic pain and hysteroscopy.
I moved to Yorkshire in 2007 to commence specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. During my training I focused my attention on developing my skills as a fertility specialist undertaking a medical doctorate in subfertility through the Hull York Medical School completing this in 2016.
To compliment my interest in fertility, I developed skills in minimal access (laparoscopic /keyhole) surgery. I subsequently completed the BSGE Laparoscopic training program which allowed me to broaden my skills and knowledge of laparoscopic surgery. I then completed the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists advanced training in laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of deep infiltrating endometriosis under the supervision of Mr Kevin Phillips and have a wide depth of experience in managing complex endometriosis and benign gynaecology.
I work within the Hull and East Yorkshire regional endometriosis centre at Castle Hill Hospital. At present we are participating in national endometriosis clinical studies, as well as undertaking research in collaboration with the University of Hull in developing a non invasive urinary test to diagnosis endometriosis, which will hopefully reduce the long wait many women experience in getting a diagnosis of endometriosis.
I have experience across benign gynaecology and perform regular hysteroscopy clinics at Hull Royal Infirmary for menstrual disorders and subfertility that can include the treatment of polyps and fibroids.
I obtained my certificate of completion of specialist training in 2018 and was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
