BSc, MBBS, MRCS, MSc, FRCS
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon that specialises in adult degenerative conditions of the spine. I am dual fellowship trained from the prestigious elective and trauma units, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Royal London Hospital. I have a vast armamentarium of surgical skills ranging from conventional open techniques, minimally invasive image-guided techniques and am also proficient in the use of modern technological advancements such as navigation and robotics.
Conditions of the spine I typically treat include herniated discs and narrowing of the spinal canal (spinal stenosis). These conditions are mostly seen in the cervical (neck) and lumbar (lower back) spine. Most of the time, non-operative treatments can be extremely effective in managing these conditions. Should surgical intervention be required, I perform image-guided spinal injections and denervation (for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes), microsurgical discectomies, decompressions, a number of fusion operations with and without the use of metalwork and disc replacement surgery.
As an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor for University College London, I lead the orthopaedic undergraduate training programme. I am also faculty for the University College London Medical School entry interviews and am passionate about recruiting and training the future generation of doctors to a high standard.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Kiran Divani at Spire include:
