Specialises in
I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust, with over 20 years of experience in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery. I specialise in otology, sinus diseases, and sleep apnoea surgery, offering advanced treatments for both adults and children. My holistic approach to patient care incorporates not only cutting-edge surgical techniques but also a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s needs, ensuring they receive well-rounded care for their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Throughout my career, I have performed over 1,500 complex ear surgeries, including cholesteatoma excision, stapedectomy, ossiculoplasty, tympanoplasty, and cochlear implants. As an expert in otology, I am particularly known for my work in hearing restoration and the treatment of vertigo, tinnitus, and balance disorders. I also lead a specialist balance clinic that caters to both adults and children with vestibular conditions.
My expertise extends to the management of sinus and nasal disorders, where I am highly skilled in functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). I offer minimally invasive treatments for chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal tumours, and complex nasal conditions. Additionally, my precision in functional nasal surgery, including septoplasty and snoring treatments, allows me to effectively manage obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).
A cornerstone of my practice is clear communication. I believe in being a compassionate listener, ensuring that patients feel heard and understood at every step of their journey. This approach empowers patients to actively participate in their treatment decisions, which leads to better outcomes and a stronger doctor-patient relationship.
Beyond my clinical work, I am passionate about medical education and have contributed extensively to the training of junior doctors and medical students. I lecture both nationally and internationally and actively contribute to postgraduate courses and research, particularly in the fields of endoscopic otology, advances in sinusitis, nasal polyps management and sleep medicine.
My patient care philosophy revolves around compassionate, clear communication. I believe in tailoring treatment plans to each individual's needs, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health.
I am honoured to have received several accolades, including the ‘Outstanding Patient Experience Award’ from Doctify and the ‘Research Specialty Lead Award’ from North Thames CRN NIHR (2024). I also serve as a professor at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
