I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup since 2013. I specialise in lower limb surgery and trauma reconstruction. My main interests are hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. I also have an interest in young adult hip pathology, trauma and enhanced recovery surgery and rehabilitation.
I perform numbers well over the national average for joint replacements and hip revision surgery, as stated on the National Joint Registry Data. I also perform regular trauma surgery, all with good outcomes. Feedback obtained from my patients post-operatively has been positive throughout.
I qualified from St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, Imperial College graduating in 2000. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and undertook a part-time Masters in Medical Law and Ethics. I undertook my postgraduate orthopaedic training in the South East. I was heavily involved in the development of an enhanced accelerated recovery joint replacement programme with Hugh Apthorp in Hastings. I also completed three Orthopaedic Fellowships; two in joint reconstruction, a revision arthroplasty and young adult hip pathology at Frimley Park Hospital and in Calgary Canada. I also obtained a Trauma Fellowship at the University of Calgary in Canada.
I am a member of numerous committees based at my NHS trust including the Thrombosis Committee, Trauma Networks, Enhanced Care Pathway and Audit leads committee.
