MB ChB, MD, FRCS, FEBVS
I have been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon since 2012 and am a recognised expert in the treatment of varicose veins, leg ulcers and deep vein disorders. I have been actively involved in research into venous disorders for 15 years and speak regularly at national and international conferences.
I specialise in the treatment of varicose veins, thread veins and deep vein disorders. I regularly use the latest minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins (including radiofrequency ablation, glue treatment and foam sclerotherapy) and the latest stenting technology for narrowed or blocked deep veins. Working in one of the busiest vascular units in the UK, I also have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of aortic / iliac aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease / claudication and carotid disease.
Over the last 10 years, I have performed over 1,000 keyhole varicose vein procedures. Having worked in specialist leg ulcer clinics and conducted a number of research studies, I have specific expertise in the holistic treatment of skin damage and leg ulcers due to venous disease.
I maintain a very active research programme and am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. I have authored >65 articles in medical journals and am on the editorial board of the largest journal dedicated to venous disease. I also regularly act as an expert reviewer for articles and grant applications submitted to a number of journals and funding bodies.
I work as a trainer and advisor to junior and senior doctors, to learn the latest procedures and techniques to treat varicose veins and diseased deep veins.
