MB ChB, FRACS (Plast), BHB, ECFMG
I am a consultant cosmetic (plastic) surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex offering private cosmetic surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospital.
I qualified from the Auckland University Medical School in 1984. I completed my plastic surgery training in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, France and the UK. In 1996 I became a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The Saint Andrews Centre for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Essex, where I helped to establish the Basildon Breast Unit. I promoted the concept of immediate reconstruction after mastectomy surgery for breast cancer, and developed the skin-sparing mastectomy. I left the NHS in 2003 to focus on full-time private practice. I now have a large private practice in Essex and London, developed through word of mouth recommendation. I have avoided sensationalist media coverage and instead have made a number of documentaries with The Discovery Channel.
I am the lead reconstructive plastic surgeon at The London Breast Clinic. I perform over 300 breast enlargement, uplift and reduction operations per year; as well as multiple body sculpturing procedures including liposculpture, liposuction, tummy tucks and male breast reduction (gynaecomastia/MOOBS). I perform facial rejuvenation procedures such as mini and full facelift, nose reshaping, upper and lower eyelid surgery, fat transfer, laser and chemical peels. I also operate regularly on patients with skin cancer, hand injuries, trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome.
I am committed to uncompromising personal service and technical excellence in the care of my patients. I will always give you an honest opinion - if a procedure is not right for you, or if your expectations are unrealistic, I will tell you. I invest considerable time pre-operatively to ensure my patients are well informed on the benefits and risks of surgery, and the likely outcome. You will always have at least two consultations with me before surgery. Above all, I am a doctor first and foremost - my patients' wellbeing and safety is my priority.
