BSc (Hons) M.C.S.P HPC
I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science. Having developed an interest in medicine and musculoskeletal injuries I continued my education in this field and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2001 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. I initially worked in the NHS and gained experience in a wide range of specialities. It was during this period I was able to develop my skills in sports injuries by working with youth teams of a professional football team.
Since 2008 I have worked in the private sector for Spire Cheshire Hospital. This had enabled me to continue my professional development through post graduate education, while gaining further experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
I specialise in the treatment of spinal and peripheral musculoskeletal problems. I have a specific interest in sports injuries and lower limb dysfunction and have been involved in the development of the service we provide in this area. I use a number of different techniques to achieve patient centred goals including exercise programs, manual therapy, soft tissue mobilisation, electrotherapy and taping. I also have a specialist interest in the use of acupuncture for pain relief and I will often use this in conjunction with muscle imbalance and core stability work to mange spinal conditions.
