Having completed a degree in Physiology at the University of London and qualified from Imperial Medical School in London in 1998, I went on to train as a surgeon in London and Essex. I was awarded an MD for a thesis on human pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours at St Bartholomew's hospital.
I have been an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and laparoscopic surgery faculty member.
Following completion of higher surgical training, I obtained 1 of 6 nationally recognised and fully sponsored Laparoscopic (minimal access) Fellowships taken at Colchester ICENI centre with Professor R Motson. I was subsequently appointed a temporary consultant at St Marks Hospital in Harrow which is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for colorectal surgery. I have attended numerous national and international courses on laparoscopic, general and colorectal surgery.

I live in East London with my wife who is a medical consultant and endocrinologist at both Newham hospital and Barts Health. We have two beautiful daughters who have started school and are enjoying life to the full.
Alongside work and family I am most interested in fitness and compete in various events including duathlons, trail/road running, cycling and most recently the Scotland Coast to Coast – traversing Scotland in a weekend by running, cycling and Kyaking.
I have been a medical advisor for Holby City television program.
I constantly strive for a greater knowledge of oneology and take care of an old Jaguar car.
