I have been practicing ophthalmology since 2013 and I am now delighted to have the pleasure passing on this experience as the college tutor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists at the N&N.

My goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for all patients through evidence-based practice, cutting-edge technology and a commitment to continuous surgical audit and innovation. I deliver personalised care for each of my patients, tailoring treatment and prevention strategies to the unique characteristics of each patient.

I provide comprehensive treatment options for a diverse array of surgical retinal diseases. These include performing procedures such as epiretinal membrane peeling, macular hole closure, management of diabetic eye disease, treatment for floaters, resolution of vitreomacular traction, and repair of retinal detachments.

Furthermore, I offer thorough evaluations and treatments for a wide range of general ophthalmic conditions. This encompasses administering intravitreal injections, conducting laser procedures, and performing cataract surgeries.

Annually, I perform approximately 500 vitrectomies and over 1,000 cataract procedures, diligently monitoring my results through continuous audits to ensure optimal outcomes. Notably, complication rates remain exceptionally low.

I have a particular interest in advanced cataract surgery, including the the newly emerging field of mid-segment surgery (secondary IOL selection and insertion). This includes, addressing aphakia, aniridia, presbyopia and astigmatism. I offer a wide range of various implant options including artificial iris insertion for iris disorders and an array of IOLs (multifocal, enhanced monofocal, extended depth of focus, scleral fixated and toric). These bespoke solutions are crafted with the discerning individual in mind, aiming to reduce their dependence on spectacles while maximising their potential vision and quality of life.

I graduated from University College London Medical School in 2011 where I achieved advanced undergraduate ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and was awarded the Allen Goldsmith Prize in Ophthalmology. I then commenced specialist ophthalmic surgical training in the East of England, before undertaking dual vitreoretinal fellowships in Sheffield and Oxford and returning to the N&N as a consultant.

By lecturing, conducting research, and actively participating in international meetings, I consistently stay abreast of the latest advancements in my field and I dedicate myself to using cutting-edge technologies and techniques in my practice. While being a surgical specialist, my role of leading the emergency ophthalmology service at the N&N maintains a comprehensive grasp on all areas of ophthalmology facilitating a holistic approach to ocular health.
