MB ChB FRCS (Orth)
I am a full-time Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. My practice encompasses a wide range of spinal conditions covering all levels of the spine.
I perform fusion and motion preserving procedures for lumbar and cervical problems, as well as managing as many conditions conservatively as possible. I treat sciatica, spinal stenosis, degenerative back pain, arm pain, spinal trauma, tumours and infection.
I carry out my basic spinal training in the West Midlands which was consolidated by a combined Orthopaedic/Neurosurgical Fellowship in Liverpool.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Mel Grainger at Spire include:
Orthopaedics
Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
I am a "black country" lad by birth. I have lived around the West Midlands and, especially, North Worcestershire for the majority of my life. Any spare time, left by my wife and three children, is spent coaching a youth football team, Tae Kwan Do and working with the local scout group.
